Bench Hall of Fame: Munenori Kawasaki

Welp.

The Kawasaki era is over. Forget Donaldson. Forget Bautista. Please, please, please try and forget Price. Kawasaki was the face of the playoff Jays. While he didn’t play a single game, this plucky monkey man-child who supposedly plays shortstop, was front and center for the entirety of last season magical playoff run. While Bautista’s bat flip is obviously the one moment that encapsulates the 2015 season, I would put Kawasaki’s “bush party” interview as the clear number 2.

This isn’t a huge loss for the Jays in terms of talent. But Jays fans everywhere are mourning losing Kawasaki to the Chicago Cubs. I don’t think anyone blames him for leaving and please do not use his leaving as further proof that Shapiro is Satan. Muni is just a simple man searching for the perfect bush party. I hope he finds it in Chicago.

Luckily the Cubs are already being sized for their “2016 Playoff” hats, because the MLB playoffs need some more Kawasaki.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll spend the rest of the day on Youtube watching Kawasaki clips while listening to Sarah Mclachlan’s “I Will Remember You”. I’ll make your life easier and post the best of the best Muni clips. Enjoy.
