Brady and Gronk Together Again… but not in New England

Today, my nightmare of an NFL offseason just got so much worse. Losing Tom Brady was hard enough to handle, but now knowing that Rob Gronkowski is coming out of retirement to play with him in Tampa Bay just put me over the edge.
Getting a fourth-round pick for a player that was never going to play for the Patriots again isn’t a bad thing. The issue is that I’ll now have to deal with watching my two favourite players go and play on a team that is not the New England Patriots. The two Patriots jerseys I own are Brady and Gronkowski. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been irrelevant for as long as I can remember, and now I have to watch two of the best Patriots, and really two of the best in NFL history, go play for this shit franchise? That just doesn’t sit right with me.
When Gronk retired after the 2018 season, it sucked but I understood it. I was a big believer in the “Gronk is coming back” theories, especially when the Patriots’ offense began to struggled around the midway point of last season. That didn’t happen and I had finally accepted that maybe he was done for good. At least he went out on top, and made a play that set up the game winning touchdown in Super Bowl LII.
I really don’t know how to handle this. Obviously the Patriots are still, and will forever be my team, but I need to figure out what to do about this. Do I cheer against my favourite players now? Do I just cave in for a year and order a Bucs jersey? Do I be the guy that shows up to a Buccaneers game wearing a Patriots Brady jersey? I’m so confused. All I know is that watching two of the guys who made New England good for so long, pack up and go to a different team sucks.
